JOIN US: ACTIONS

RJ4J mobilizes Reform Jews and allies to resist the Reform Movement’s unconditional support for Israel, its suppression of dissent, and its role in the oppression of Palestinians. Through advocacy, education, and organizing, we are creating a movement inspired by Reform Jewish values, committed to justice, accountability, and building an equitable future for all.

We envision a Reform Jewish community that is consistent in its application of justice and compassion by championing human dignity, embracing open dissent, and taking collective responsibility for generations of harm to Palestinians and to Israelis. By challenging where we have fallen short of these ideals, we aim to transform the power of Reform Jews into a force for liberation.

We ask our Reform Jewish community to take a stand and commit to the following actions with us:

  1. Join our comrades at aligned organizations in their local and national actions
    • IfNotNow: A home for all American Jews disillusioned by Institutional Judaism’s militant Zionism, a substantial resource for personal growth on the issue that also organizes virtual and in-person direct actions and events nationally
    • Jewish Voice for Peace: A solidarity and direct action-focused organization with many local chapters across the U.S. and resources for immediate action
    • Palestinian Youth Movement: A Palestinian-led movement on the frontlines of liberation action across the country
    • Jews for Racial and Economic Justice: A hub for the New York Jewish Left, consistently organizing and taking action against the current war
  2. Contact your local URJ affiliated synagogue and speak with the rabbinic and lay leadership about your stance, and your desire for rectification.
  3. Contact URJ leadership and continue putting pressure on them to take the stance for an immediate ceasefire by writing your own email or with this template
